Wakefield Newsletter – March 2008

Dear Saints and Servants in Hutchinson,
THE DAILY VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL In February can still be watered with your prayers. A conscientious and eager crew of teachers and helpers presented the Gospel to neighborhood children. One little girl was instrumental in “converting” her critical, malicious and acid-tongued grandmother from her negative attitudes toward the “evangelicals” into a pleased supporter of what we were doing for the local children. A lot of sowing was done and we trust God will bless the Word in young hearts and minds, as some will continue to attend the Saturday Bible classes.
THE YOUTH CAMP spread the Word of God and the Gospel to over 100 campers, some of whom went to camp unsaved. We are praying especially for four who asked for personal conversations regarding salvation. A number of factors limit us to one week of camp a year, and our youth most always want it to be evangelistic. Your continued prayers are appreciated.
THE RECENT BAPTISM of two young girls has brought special joy to the assembly as both are daughters of parents in fellowship. One is third generation as her grandmother is also with us. Several children of believers are entering adolescence and youth now so we expect them to trust the Lord and be baptized. We see no signs of the assembly “dying on the vine.” Praise the Lord with us.
MARCH AND APRIL will bring us a number of visitors from the US and Canada, for which we personally will have varying degrees of responsibility. Some are coming in teams to help the reconstruction of the assembly Bible camp which was damaged by the August 15 earthquake last year, and some are interested in the Lord’s leading in their lives regarding future missionary work. Pray for us as we help in our limited way in these responsibilities.
ADDITIONAL NOTE – April One of the teams mentioned above has come and gone by the time you receive this letter. The reconstruction of the camp Is progressing, for which we thank God. We ask special prayer for A.G., a young man of 24, who has set his heart on being a missionary and is making exploratory trips as a help to knowing Gods will. Please pray for him and continue praying to the Lord of the harvest. Thank you for working togethr with us in this way, and for the $150.00 just received. We get lots of news from Hutchinson and pray for you.
Gordon and Florence
