A Complete God II

We have a majestic God who has revealed himself completely in His creation. God made man in his own image giving him all the qualities necessary to know Him as his almighty creator and Lord. Within man, God has instilled a desire to know Him and a spirit that desires to live with Him. These desires are indicated by Paul in II Corinthians 5:1-5 “Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. Now it is God who has made us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.” The question remains why, then does man continually reject God?
God’s presence is real and is indicated not only in scripture, but also in history and science. All known civilizations of man are known for having some form of religion (A desire to know God.) and within such religions is often a search for the spiritual (Again, a desire to know God’s spiritual nature.) The recent discovery of DNA has shown the complexity of the simple cell and points to an intelligent designer of our world, a creator, God! God continues to reveal himself through his creation in a many ways!
God’s desire is for man to recognize Him as our creator, then thank him, glorify him, and worship him for all he done for us. The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against the godlessness of man, as Paul writes in Romans 1:18-32 “The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities – his eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so men are without excuse.
For although they new God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.
Therefore, God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather then the Creator – who is forever praised. Amen.
Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way, the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.
Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind to do what ought not to be done. They became filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanders, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.” In his foolish pride, man refused to glorify God, and desired to do things in his own power and intelligence, which lead to foolish thinking and the worship of created things rather than God. As a result, God gave man over to sexual impurity, shameful lusts, and a depraved mind that refused to retain the knowledge of God. The end result was an increase in every form of sin and man coming to the point of approving such depravity.
In conclusion, we need to look to God for all our spiritual needs, including all knowledge and truth. This begins by acknowledging Him as the creator of the world and the Father of our savior the Lord Jesus Christ and beyond that it is to thank God, worship Him and glorify Him. Hebrews 4:16 “Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in time of need.” A complete God continues to desire that we all know Him personally despite the fact that we often reject Him in our foolish pride.
