A Complete God III

We have a total God with all the power and wisdom to create the universe. Jeremiah 10:11-13 “Tell them this: ‘These gods, who did not make the heavens and the earth, will perish from the earth and from under the heavens.’ But God made the earth by his power; he founded the world by his wisdom and stretched out the heavens by his understanding. When he thunders, the waters from heavens roar; he makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth. He sends lighting with the rain and brings out the wind from storehouses.” As indicated by Jeremiah in these verses and is also confirmed by Ecclesiastes, God continues to be the keeper of the universe and he will continue for His work endures forever. Ecclesiastes 3: 11-14 “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live. That everyone may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all his toil – this is the gift of God. I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that men will revere him.”
It is God’s will that all men know his truth, as Timothy writes in 1 Timothy 2:3-6 “This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men – the testimony given at the proper time.” The truth God desires us to know is that we have one God, one mediator between God and men (Jesus Christ), and one ransom for our sins (Jesus Christ). It is thru His son Jesus Christ that God’s universe holds together and God’s plans for mankind also hold together thru Jesus Christ as Paul indicates in Colossians 1: 15-17, “He is the image of the invisible God, the first born over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, weather thrones or powers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and by him all things hold together.”
We have duties as believers in Christ because of what he has done for us. These duties begin with prayer as indicated in 1 Timothy 2:1,2 “I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” The prayer is for leaders and others in order to help us live in godliness and holiness. We are to love the Lord as well as others Jesus says in Luke 10:27 “He answered: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind and Love your neighbor as yourself.” We are to obey God first of all: Acts 5: 29 “Peter and the other apostles replied: ‘We must obey God rather than Men!” Our duties are summed up in God’s 10 Commandments to us, written in Exodus 20.
Understand that God is greater then men in all things: 1 Corinthians 1: 25 “For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength.” However, as his people, we are to continue to live in Christ, it is a growing process in which we become more like God: Colossians 2: 6,7 “So then just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.” We are reconciled to God thru Jesus Christ, and now we are a new creation: 2 Corinthians 5: 17-18 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:”
In conclusion, our hope is in the creator and keeper of the universe, who loves us and continues to keep us shielded in His power: 1 Peter 1: 3-5 “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade – kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.” God has created a universe that stretches beyond our imagination for millions of light years and he holds the earth, sun, moon and stars in there orbit. He holds the sea in its containment and is in control of the wind, and rains. He sustains life and watches after the fish of the sea, the birds of the air and all the animals. In spite of his glory as creator of the universe, God watches over me and is concerned with my life on earth as well as my eternal life with Him. If his eye is on the sparrow then I know he watches me!
